Blake Griffin is signing with the Nets!

Blake Griffin is signing with the Nets! Shortly after clearing waivers, Blake Griffin has signed with the Nets. Now some did speculate, including us, that he could go to LA with the Lakers. However, he decided he wants to win a ring. Or at least contend for one.

The current roster lineup for the Nets would be Harden, Kyrie, Durant, and now Griffin. To sign Griffin, the Nets will be using one of their many veteran-minium-contract to sign him.

All the teams interested in him were playoff-contenders, at this point in time, however, Brooklyn was probably more a smarter choice. To be honest and fair, Griffin’s career has altered since injuries plagued his dunking career. Plus, he is more of a passer now and can help the big-3. Also, could this be a “big-4” now? Who knows it will be interesting how this team responds with the likes of Griffin.

Small Market Teams finds it UNFAIR in the Buy-Out Market!

Blake Griffin is a FA!

Blake Griffin is a FA! Yes you read that correctly as Griffin has agreed to buying out his contract with the Pistons. What does that mean? That means that he is an unrestricted free agent and he can go to whatever team he wants.

Within the next week or so, he should be making his announcement on who he is going to sign with. Many speculate that it is going to be with the Lakers, some people think it is going to be with the Nets to give them the ultimate team; to be real, I think it would be the Lakers over the Nets, who knows.

However, here are the teams publicly that want him: Heat, Trail Blazers, Warriors, and Nets. Interestingly, the 31-year-old did not get the Lakers to publicly say if they wanted him or not. Would he be too much for the money? Is Davis and LeBron already enough? Who knows for sure until he makes his decision.

Now, let’s talk about him and the Pistons.

Here’s a statement from the Pistons about Griffin:

“Blake has been a great representative for our franchise and for the city of Detroit,” owner Tom Gores said in a statement Friday. “His work ethic and his approach to the game contributed a lot to our culture. He has been a consummate pro and we wish him continued success. I’m grateful for everything he did for our team and for our community.”

Here’s what Griffin has to say on this:

“I thank the Pistons organization for working together on an outcome that benefits all involved and I wish the franchise success in the future.”
