According to the man himself, Darius Garland isn’t going anywhere, Cleveland. The Cavaliers will continue to have the duo of Donovan Mitchell and Garland.

Despite reports and rumors about how dysfunctional the locker room was and management having to pick between Mitchell and Garland, the reality is the complete opposite. In fact, Garland has publicly said he doesn’t want a trade.

“I don’t want to be traded,” Garland said. “Those are just rumors.” This is a positive day for the state of Ohio, as he’s met with General Manager Koby Altman, and a topic about trade requests never came up.

According to multiple reports, Garland is happy about Cleveland’s hiring of new head coach, Kenny Atkinson. That is a huge plus, as well.

Cavaliers Can’t Trade Jarrett Allen Because Of Donovan Mitchell

Despite the Cleveland Cavaliers wanting to entertain trade offers involving Jarrett Allen, they are hesitant to do so because of Donovan Mitchell.

According to Marc Stein, Cleveland doesn’t want to upset Mitchell, who is a fan of Allen. To take it another step forward, Mitchell doesn’t want to lose the young center as a teammate.

The Cavaliers want to sign Mitchell to a long-term extension, which can happen this offseason, as Cleveland wants to keep their core players assembled. When they extend Mitchell, there is a large expectation of talks surrounding roster construction to be held with Mitchell.

Speculation has everyone thinking moves will be made, but not concerning Allen.

Donovan Mitchell Expected To Sign Extension With Cavaliers

According to Yahoo Sports Jake Fischer, there is a growing expectation that Donovan Mitchell will continue his partnership with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

While there has been much debate surrounding what would happen to him, it’s widely believed the 27-year-old will sign the four-year extension worth $208.5 million.

Cleveland wants to keep the “core four” together, but there may be obstacles in keeping everyone happy – like Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen – for now, Mitchell wants to remain in Cleveland a deal could get done soon.
