Celtics To Work Out TJ Warren And Others This Week

The Boston Celtics have multiple open roster spots that they are ready to use on players that can fit within their organization.

With that being said, Boston have put together workout sessions for T.J. Warren, Lamar Stevens, and Louis King this week.

Shams Charania of The Athletic and Michael Scotto of HoopsHype have confirmed this.

Warren lastly played for the Phoenix Suns, Stevens lastly played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and King lastly played (one game) for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Jayson Tatum Has Suffered A Torn Right Achilles

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Boston Celtics have confirmed through an MRI that superstar Jayson Tatum has suffered a torn right Achilles.

While Boston expects Tatum to make a full recovery, he is more than likely to be out for all out next season. A devastating blow after he led them to the NBA Finals and signing a shattering $314 million deal.

The injury occurred during the late stages of Game 4 against the New York Knicks. This was a non-contact injury where he couldn’t put any weight on that injured leg.

Fans saw him being carried off the court and immediately on a wheelchair to get medical attention.

Despite the loss and injury, the 27-year-old left it all out on the court. He recorded 42 points, eight rebounds, four assists, four steals, and two blocks.

Jrue Holiday Expected To Play In Monday's Game 1

According to multiple reports, spearheaded by ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Boston Celtics are expected to get back Jrue Holiday for Monday’s Game 1 against the New York Knicks.

Boston has been banged up with injuries since the beginning of their series against the Orlando Magic; notable names being Jayson Tatum, Kristaps Porzingis, and Jaylen Brown.

Beyond those three, a very notable name missing was Holiday. He’s been dealing with a strained right hamstring.

The medical staff has given the defensive-minded 34-year-old a clean bill of health to be able to play Monday. This is great news for the Celtics, who are going up against a tough matchup.

Overall, Boston does not have anyone else on their injury report.

Payton Pritchard Wins Sixth Man Of The Year

Before TNT’s broadcast of Bucks-Pacers, the NBA announced that Payton Pritchard had won the Sixth Man of the Year award. A highly viewed award where he battled both Ty Jerome and Malik Beasley.

Pritchard has been one of the most valuable bench players in the NBA this season, as he averaged a career-high in points (14.3). Plus, led the NBA in points off the bench with 1,079 and set an NBA single-season record for three-pointers made off the bench with 246.

His huge season propelled him to first in voting to secure this year’s Sixth Man of the Year award.

The 27-year-old received 82 of the 100 first place votes and was 454 points ahead of both Jerome and Beasley.
