After getting swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder Monday night, reporters were asking LeBron James in the postgame press conference what his future in the NBA looks like. Speculation has been rising since he is 41 years old and this has been a topic since their 2024 postseason exit.

LeBron was prepared for their questions and decided to offer a tiny glimpse into his mindset and where he may be at mentally.

“I think you guys asked me about [retirement], and I’ve answered questions. I don’t think I’ve come out and been like, ‘Oh, retirement is coming,'” James said. “With my future, I don’t know, honestly. It’s, obviously it’s still fresh from, obviously losing. And I don’t know. I don’t know what the future holds for me.”

The highly decorated player said he was going to spend time with family over the course of the next few weeks before making any definite decisions regarding his career and if this is the end or not to an amazing career.

“I think for me it’s about the process,” James said. “If I can commit to still being in love with the process of showing up to the arena 5½ hours before a game to start preparing for a game, giving everything I got, diving for loose balls and doing everything that you know that it takes to go out and play.

“Showing up to practices, 11 o’clock practice, I’m there at 8 o’clock preparing my body, preparing my mind, preparing to practice, to put the work in. So I think for me, I’ve always been in love with the process … so I think that would be a big factor.”

Rob Pelinka and the Lakers have publicly made it clear they would love to have LeBron back for another season. Multiple reporters have suggested James could leave Los Angeles and go home to the Cleveland Cavaliers, or even join Stephen Curry in Golden State to help the Warriors win a championship.

As of right now, James is an unrestricted free agent this offseason. This season, he averaged 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per game.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Giannis Antetokounmpo is widely expected to reject the idea of opting into a long-term commitment to the Milwaukee Bucks, which would signal an end of an era between the two sides.

Even with the two sides meeting in the coming weeks, the probability of Antetokounmpo signing the four-year, $275 million extension with the Bucks is seen as low. While the extension couldn’t officially be signed until October, the front office would need his commitment in June.

The higher ups have already called for a resolution to happen before the NBA draft, which begins on June 23rd. Plus, they have already opened the gates on hearing out offers regarding the 31-year-old.

A handful of teams ranging from the Golden State Warriors to the Miami Heat are reportedly expected to show legitimate interest in the two-time MVP and one-time NBA Finals champion.

“Any conversation that the Bucks are going to have with Giannis Antetokounmpo, from my understanding, is going to be a very simple one: ‘Do you want to stay here long-term and commit long-term in June?'” Charania said on the Pat McAfee Show on Monday.

“The answer, from all accounts, is going to be ‘no.’ And at that point, the question is going to be: where does Giannis want to go? Where does he want to play for and commit long-term? Because he’s got just one guaranteed year left on his deal. You guys know this; especially in the NBA, that gives a player of this caliber a ton of leverage—a ton of sway on where he ends up.”

According to multiple reports, confirmed by the Memphis Grizzlies, 29-year-old veteran forward Brandon Clarke has passed away Tuesday morning.

While a cause of death has not been officially determined, it’s suspected he died from a drug overdose. LAPD sources confirmed to ABC News that the talented player was found dead on Monday in a home located in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley.

“We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of Brandon Clarke. Brandon was an outstanding teammate and an even better person whose impact on the organization and the greater Memphis community will not be forgotten,” said the Grizzlies in a statement. “We express our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

“We are devastated to learn of the passing of Brandon Clarke,” said Adam Silver. “As one of the longest-tenured members of the Grizzlies, Brandon was a beloved teammate and leader who played the game with enormous passion and grit.  Our thoughts and sympathies are with Brandon’s family, friends and the Grizzlies organization.”

In his seven years in the league, Clarke averaged 10.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 309 career games. He spent his entire career with Memphis.
