According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the New Orleans Pelicans will be without their star point guard for the next four to six weeks.

The injury occurred late in the fourth quarter of their season opener against the Chicago Bulls. Something was immediately off when his teammates tried helping him up.

After initial and further tests, it was found out Murray suffered a fractured left hand.

With the new injury, Herbert Jones will return to his normal position and Daniel Theis will play the center position. CJ McCollum and Brandon Ingram will be the new duo in the backcourt with Zion Williamson remaining as their power forward.

New Orleans is currently 2-0 and currently 3rd in the West.

Hawks Prefer To Trade Trae Young Over Dejounte Murray

According to Marc Stein, the Atlanta Hawks management is more inclined to trade Trae Young than they are Dejounte Murray. Many factors go into Atlanta trading either one of them, but the main one is them being terrible on the court together.

“There is a growing belief in many corners of the league that Atlanta’s preference would actually be shopping Young.”

Murray was tested in the market during this past trade deadline, but general manager Landry Fields did not like any of the offers. Young is believed to have more market value despite not working with Atlanta.

Young is finishing his second year of his $215 million deal. He has three more years on his deal with a $48 million player option.

Hawks Continue To Want Austin Reaves For Dejounte Murray

The Lakers proposed a trade offer to the Hawks involving D’Angelo Russell, but that got squashed when he started playing well, and values were changed on both sides. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Atlanta wants Austin Reaves from Los Angeles.

They’ve always wanted him, but the Lakers aren’t interested. Those types of talks have almost stalled out with little to no traction picking up.

Both teams can resume talks before the deadline; however, both sides are way off in getting value from this deal.
