According to head coach James Borrego, the New Orleans Pelicans could see Dejounte Murray make his return to the organization as soon as next week. The 29-year-old has been rehabbing from a torn Achilles since tearing it at the end of January of last year.
“He’s close,” Borrego said about Murray’s impending season debut. “I’d say in the next week, he’s back on the floor playing NBA games, which is amazing.”
Last season, Murray dealt with two major injuries: the torn Achilles and the fractured left hand. In 31 game appearances, he averaged 17.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 7.4 assists, and 2.0 steals.
