Doc Rivers and 76ers connect up for a contract!

Doc Rivers and 76ers connect up for a contract! After having talks and negotiations throughout the whole day, the 76ers and Doc Rivers locked up for a five year contract.

It wasn’t even three days , officially, for Rivers to find a new home. How all this started was when the 76ers GM, Elton Brand, reached out to Rivers. This then led Rivers to fly to Philly for a contract meeting, which then led to this: a five year contract. Note, the money aspect of the contract has not been publicly shared yet.

This became an interesting hire for the 76ers since they were interviewing their assistant HC, Ty Lue, and Mike D’Antoni. The team was fixed on hiring former Rocket’s HC, but that changed since Rivers hit the FA Market. Since Rivers did hit the market; several teams were being noted for him to be hired on. Like the Pelicans, 76ers (of course), and potentially the Rockets. Those were some of the names that could have had interest in him, and of course the 76ers capitalized on it.

The 76ers were in the playoffs this year, but sadly they lost in the first round. They lost to the Celtics, who swept them. Now since Brett Brown is out, Doc Rivers will get his fair share to turn around this team. To see if he can make them into a Conference-Finals or even a NBA Finals Contending team.

Will update you guys through our social media once money through the contract comes up publicly.
