Donovan Mitchell content in staying with the Jazz

Since Rudy Gobert and Royce O’Neale got traded, many have speculated Donovan Mitchell was next. This has been some news since the Kevin Durant news came out and all these deals were happening; however, despite the rough relationship between the two, both sides seem content in keeping the relationship going.

The Jazz have stayed true to their word of having no interest in trading Mitchell. Mitchell has stayed silent and not forcing his opinion to be traded or not to be traded. Here is what Brian Windhorst has to say on this:

“The Jazz and Donovan Mitchell are kind of in a bad marriage right now, but they’re going to stay together for the sake of the kids. The Jazz are saying they’re not interested in trading him. Donovan Mitchell has not requested a trade, and at the moment seems to be just waiting back and watching.”

The 25-year-old signed a five-year, $163 million extension with Utah back in 2020. Mitchell can become a free agent in 2025 if he declines his player option for 2025-26.
