Giannis Antetokounmpo suffers sprained ligament in right wrist

The Bucks avoided a massive blow to their team and, most importantly, to their superstar when the reports came back of him only suffering a sprained ligament in his right wrist and nothing major happened.

Giannis left the All-Star game after only playing 20 seconds in the game, scoring two points and committing one foul, due to his wrist injury. Before the game, Antetokounmpo publicly said he was only going to play as long as his wrist could handle it – he was seen with wrist bandages.

He may miss some games due to the pain, but, when it calms down, Giannis will make his return to the team.

Antetokounmpo is averaging 31.8 points, 12.2 rebounds and 5.4 assists this season.

Trae Young Replaces Giannis Antetokounmpo For All-Star Game

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Commissioner Adam Silver has formally announced Giannis Antetokounmpo’s replacement as outstanding guard Trae Young.

Due to Antetokounmpo being sidelined through All-Star weekend with a calf injury, Silver had to make an on-the-fly adjustment and select a new player. While it isn’t Milwaukee’s superstar, Young is still a phenomenal pick.

Right now, the 26-year-old is leading the league in assists (11.4) and is averaging 23.5 points per game. Young was considered a snub in this year’s All-Star selection.

With him added to the weekend, this will be Young’s fourth All-Star appearance in seven seasons.

The East’s replacement has been resolved, as the West’s replacement is expected to be announced soon by Silver. Anthony Davis was selected to participate in the game, but suffering a strained adductor in his Mavericks debut game has soured that opportunity.

Giannis Antetokounmpo (Calf) Out Through All-Star Weekend

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Milwaukee Bucks will be sidelining Giannis Antetokounmpo through the All-Star Weekend due to a calf injury.

Milwaukee diagnosed him with a mild calf strain, as he’s missed the past couple of games due to various injuries of the calf and knee.

Commissioner Adam Silver will pick his replacement in the coming week. Despite the league shifting it to mini-rosters for the tournament, the replacement will still come from the Eastern Conference.
