The Hornets have fired James Borrego

In one of the most shocking moves that no one could have seen coming, James Borrego has been fired. It was reported by ESPN, and many more sources, that Charlotte has dismissed him from coaching the team.

The Hornets were progressing each year under Borrego, but, reportedly, the blow-out Play-In losses were just enough to get him fired. Overall, Borrego posted a coaching record of 138-163 with the Charlotte Hornets.

Lakers, Kings, and now the Hornets will be looking for their new head coach for the foreseeable future.

The Hornets are picking up James Borrego’s option on contract! Rumors, and now confirmed, that the Hornets will be keeping Borrego for another year. With the Hornets showing good improvements this season in free agency, in the draft, and just overall. They did have a winning season, plus went to the Play-In Tournament. However, they lost that battle quickly to the Indiana Pacers.

Under Borrego, in three seasons, the Charlotte Hornets went 95-124. But then again, they were adding pieces to help their HC to have a successful season. I.E. LaMelo Ball and potentially Gordon Hayward. Mitch Kupchak, general manager of the team, loves Borrego and said that performed very well so far. I guess that comes from this season as they made the playoffs since I don’t know how long, right? Just potentially getting onto the track of the right path, something that Jordan wants and that his team wants.
