According to multiple reports, current free agent Ben Simmons is legitimately considering retirement and is weighing his all his options. This comes after he found out he wouldn’t be making the same money he used to on his old contract, or even close to it.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst says Simmons could only receive non-guaranteed minimum salary contracts from organizations. This and combined lack of interest from majority of the league has left Simmons in a tough spot.

Since entering the league back in 2017, Simmons has career averages of 13.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, 7.2 assists.

Following his fallout with the Philadelphia 76ers, Simmons has been non-existent and has completely fallen off. The league no longer sees him as a franchise contributor or “that guy.”

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Brooklyn Nets have been informed by Cam Thomas that he is signing the qualifying offer for the upcoming season.

With him signing his one-year, $6 million offer, Thomas has officially ended his restricted free agency. Next offseason, the 23-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent. It’s widely believed this will be his final season with Brooklyn.

Brooklyn gave multiple offers to Thomas, as the first one was a two-year, $30 million deal with a team option attached. The second one being a one-year, $9.5 million deal that would see him waive his no-trade clause.

He will be entering his fifth season with the Nets, as, last season, he averaged 24.0 points in 31.2 minutes per game.

Did the Milwaukee Bucks have any legit interest in sending their franchise player to the Houston Rockets? Houston’s general manager Rafael Stone made an appearance as a guest on ESPN Radio Houston, where he cleared the air once and for all.

Per the popular GM, Giannis Antetokounmpo was highly coveted by the Rockets, as Houston was absolutely willing to get a deal done. However, general manager Jon Horst ultimately said no and Antetokounmpo was not available for potential trade scenarios.

“I deal well with Jon Horst, I really like him,” Stone said. “Jon was very clear that they weren’t doing anything. So, that was that.”

Since the beginning of this year’s offseason, rumors have circulated throughout the league on the future of Antetokounmpo. The 30-year-old said he was willing to keep an open-mind and wanted to still compete for a championship, white reiterating his love for Milwaukee and not wanting to leave.

This spurred on rampant rumors and reports of potential trade packages, teams interested, and if he would ever request a trade out of Milwaukee. In the end, unless Giannis wants it, the Bucks have no plans to trade away the player who delivered them a championship back in 2021.
