According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Milwaukee Bucks and general manager Jon Horst have agreed to a contract extension to keep him with the organization for the foreseeable future.
Currently, the deal is known as a “multi-year contract,” it’s unknown the exact years of the deal.
For those that did not know, Horst’s previous contract was set to expire. For Milwaukee, securing an extension with him was very important.
Horst has been with the Bucks since 2017, as he’s had a lengthy, successful resume. Most notably winning an NBA championship with the franchise, securing multiple contracts with Giannis Antetokounmpo, strategically landing Damian Lillard, and making key moves to keep Milwaukee a top-five team in an ever-evolving Eastern Conference.
Plus, in all eight seasons of his tenure with the team, Milwaukee has made the playoffs. Horst has a .647 win percentage, which is second-best in the league during that eight year time frame.
In 2024, the Detroit Pistons tried persuading him to join their team. Then, most recently, the Phoenix Suns were having their eyes set on Horst and trying to get him to join their franchise.
