Dennis Schroder out for three weeks after surgery

While the Lakers are getting back LeBron James, Anthony Davis (both soreness), and Russell Westbrook (hamstring soreness), Los Angeles will be without Dennis Schroder who is reportedly going to miss at least three weeks due to his thumb injury.

The injury turned surgery came after learning he needed to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his right thumb.

This is a blow to the Lakers, while a late signing, they were hoping to give him some minutes and see if he is the same Dennis Schroder that denied their massive extension to go to the Celtics on a prove-it deal.

Schroder has dealt with visa issues, forcing him to miss training camp, and now he is dealing with thumb injuries. So now all that Laker fans can do, same with the team, is hope and wait for the best; honestly, that is all they can do right now – when it comes to Dennis Schroder.

The Lakers begin their season on Tuesday against the Warriors at 7:00 PM Arizona time.

The Lakers are having their problems again with LeBron being out some more time this time due to an ankle sprain; now, you have Schroder out for an extended time. The only good news you have out of this, mainly for the fans, is the fact that Alex Caruso got to be a starter for the first time this season.

However the past 10-games the Lakers have been 3-7, losing three games in a row now, and now is in the 7th seed of the western conference. So, back to the Shroder news. With him put into the health and safety protocols, he will be missing between 10-14 days. Something the heart-breaking Lakers can not afford.

Either way, you slice this up, the Laker’s stars have been out twice now due to COVID. This time due to getting it and last time due to contact tracing. The Lakers will need to survive without him, Dennis is scheduled to become a free agent this summer. Another big name added to the mix of big names, most notably Stephen Curry.

OKC and Lakers making moves!

OKC and Lakers making moves! Earlier this morning, Sunday Morning, moves were being made. Both sides are getting players potentially draft picks.

The deal includes OKC shipping off Dennis Schroder to LA; in return for Danny Green and potentially a draft pick. Since there is a rule stating you can not trade first-round draft picks consecutive years; it is looking like a second rounder will happen most likely.

Now, there are some strings attached. Danny Green has been stating, since knowing of the trade, that will not be playing for OKC. Both sides are okay with that as OKC will try to flip him, and trade him to get someone or something else.

With the transactional wire opening up Monday afternoon, they’ll be able to agree upon this deal. This deal may not take place until Wednesday, the day after the night of the Draft Day.

The main reason why the Lakers want him in a trade is due to the fact that two of their players could be lost in free agency. First off would be Rajon Rondo; Playoff Rondo could potentially be leaving the Lakers to play with someone else this free agency. That is why they are trying to trade for Dennis Schroder; as his replacement and full time starter.

Secondly, we have Avery Bradley. Bradley’s time in LA could be winding down; so they fear if they lose their two veteran guards, they would need a replacement. A younger replacement, this would fill the role by trading for Schroder.
