MAJOR Suns update regarding Chris Paul and Cameron Payne
The Suns are without both of their point guards again and this is not a new feeling for the Suns or their fanbase, but it is one that is often reoccurring. However, it is a little bit different this time around – well, at least for Chris Paul.
Per Duane Rankin of AZCentral, Cam Payne is set to miss at least two weeks with his foot injury while Chris Paul is day-to-day with his sore right hip injury.
This is a significant setback for Payne, who already missed 9 games due to this injury, as this foot injury has been nagging him for some time and he can’t shake it. That became very apparent during the Suns-Cavaliers game when Payne left the game after the first half due to re-aggravating it.
Despite the negatives, there is some good news, Chris Paul is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cavaliers. So Phoenix could be getting back their veteran point guard for tomorrow’s matchup.
The Suns’ currently have Cam Payne, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, Devin Booker, and Chris Paul all out with injuries or simply not playing for the team. Four of the five players on this list are starters for this team.
Monday night was a horrific scene to watch with the Utah Jazz’s promising power forward suffering what looked to be a snapped leg.
It was a non-contact injury where after he was done running, Hendrick’s fell to the ground with his leg visibly broken.
According to multiple reports, confirmed by Utah, the 20-year-old suffered a fractured fibula and dislocated ankle. This was found out after being stretchered out of the arena and to the hospital.
According to Shams Charania, confirmed by an MRI, the Golden State Warriors will be without Stephen Curry for at least the next two games.
For those that don’t know, the peroneal is a muscle in the foot, which Curry strained, and it happens when it is overstretched due to a forceful movement. This is why last night, he couldn’t put any weight on his foot for long periods of time.
The 36-year-old suffered the injury late in the third quarter, as many believed it to be a rolled ankle. Video showed it to be a non-contact injury.
In the middle of the fourth quarter, Curry attempted to return to the game. However, he quickly collapsed to the floor and needed assistance to the locker room.
Golden State would later rule him out for the remainder of the contest against the Los Angeles Clippers.
He will be re-evaluated this upcoming Friday, per ESPN’s Charania.
