According to Jake Fischer and Marc Stein, the 28-year-old Jonathan Isaac has been waived by the Orlando Magic. This ends his nine-year run with the organization.

Unfortunately for Isaac, injuries derailed any chance of him being able to play more than 45 games since 2019-20 season. The once-promising defensive-minded big man, who should have been a defensive anchor for this team, just never could fully heal from his injuries.

Orlando has made the decision to absorb the $8 million in guaranteed money for Isaac. They’ve chosen to waive-and-stretch him in order to create flexibility under the first apron.

In 52 games last season, he averaged 2.6 points and 2.5 rebounds.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the New Orleans Pelicans have hired former Orlando Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley Monday morning. Both Joe Dumars and Troy Weaver are big fans of the 47-year-old.

Reportedly, Mosley is signing a five-year deal to take charge of a rebuilding organization. The amount of money he’ll be earning each year has not been publicly released.

Over the course of the last three years, Mosley won 133 regular season games, while boosting the Magic to three straight postseason appearances.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, confirmed by the former head coach, Jamahl Mosley has been fired by the Orlando Magic after being eliminated in the first round of the postseason against the Detroit Pistons.

While never getting out of the first round, Mosley led his team to three consecutive playoff trips in the five years he coached the organization. The 47-year-old has been credited in developing Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero, and successfully turning this franchise around. His total record with the organization is 189-221.

Despite him getting fired and having a losing record, the New Orleans Pelicans have thrown his name into the pot concerning their own head coaching vacancy.
