Monty Williams To Be Evaluated By The Pistons
With Trajan Langdon becoming the team’s president of basketball operations, he has made some big-time moves and wants to continue reshaping the Detroit Pistons as he sees fit. Former general manager Troy Weaver was fired by him.
Now, according to Marc Stein, he will be evaluating Monty Williams “immediately” to see if he is the right head coach for his basketball franchise. Williams finished year one of his six-year contract with Detroit as the worst team in the association, leading them to a 14-68 record.
Alongside this report, an earlier report surfaced that Monty Williams would not accept a buyout of his contract in this upcoming offseason. His intention is to remain with the Pistons and try to lead them out of this rebuilding period.
Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer broke the news at the beginning of April. Williams has five years left with him, making at least $13 million a season.
