Multiple charges filed against Miles Bridges

Bridges is being charged with multiple charges after reports came out, before free agency began, of him assaulting his girlfriend in front of his two children. The three felony charges were filed Tuesday by Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon.

Earlier today, Bridges pleaded not guilty to the multiple charges. Those charges would be one count of injuring a child’s parent and two counts of child abuse under circumstances or conditions likely to cause bodily injury of death. These fall under a felony of domestic violence.

Bridges were arrested on June 29th and were released on a $130,000 bond. The charges were filed on Tuesday and the arraignment happened on Wednesday, today.

Miles Bridges Agrees To New Contract With Hornets

According to multiple reports, led by The Athletic’s Shams Charania and ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Miles Bridges has re-signed with the Charlotte Hornets after opting not to be in a potential sign-and-trade.

The 26-year-old agreed to a three-year, $75 million contract to keep the core of LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, and Bridges together. This comes after Charlotte saw his potential when he exploded for multiple 40-point games last season.

He averaged 21.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists last season. He was statistically and visually one of Charlotte’s most productive players.

Miles Bridges Has Interest From Several Teams

With the NBA trade deadline a couple of weeks away, the rumors and reports have been heating up like crazy. According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, Miles Bridges is becoming a hot name, with several teams eyeing a potential trade.

The Phoenix Suns, Utah Jazz, and Detroit Pistons have become the known teams to need and want a player like Bridges. For context, he averages 20 points and 7 rebounds per game this season.

Bridges has a no-trade clause because he would lose his Bird Rights if traded. Duane Rankin of Arizona Republic explained how Phoenix could use Bridges and whether any long-term possibilities are available.

The Suns will only be able to use him as a rental, as he will be commanding big money for his next contract. Plus, Charlotte wants draft picks. However, Phoenix can work around that if this turns into a Bradley Beal situation.

With Bridges’ time in North Carolina looking over, teams are lining up, ready to put together trade packages for the veteran forward.
