Franz Wagner Agrees To Rookie Max Contract With Magic

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Orlando Magic have extended Franz Wagner to a rookie max contract. The deal is set for five years and is worth up to $270 million.

The base number is $224 million, but through incentives, it will reach up to $270 million. This solidifies him as Orlando’s cornerstone in their hopes of being a full-time playoff-contending team.

Wagner averaged 19.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 32.5 minutes. The 22-year-old appeared in 72 games last season.

LeBron James Wants To Be Center Of Attention Of Las Vegas Expansion Team

When LeBron James retires, he doesn’t want to go out and never be seen again; the billionaire seeks to partner with Las Vegas’s expansion team and be the face of it. Continuing to the be the face of the league/team in one of the biggest attracting cities in America.

While ESPN’s Brian Windhorst talked about LeBron’s newest contract, he hinted at two things: the 39-year-old taking it year-by-year due to health and wanting to be a part of an expansion team. The way Windhorst was phrasing it, we could see this as a reality.

“The biggest thing, other than health, that we’re gonna see that is going to determine when the end of LeBron’s career is when the owners of the league set forth a timeline about when they’re gonna establish that expansion team in Las Vegas,” Windhorst said. “I suspect once the TV rights deals get wrapped up … they’re gonna bring expansion to the table.”

What caught the attention of fans and the media was when Windhorst said LeBron wanted to become the face of the Las Vegas franchise. He won’t be a player, though; he will be an active partner.

“(James) wants to partner with partners to become the face of the franchise in Las Vegas.”

Adam Silver has spoken on the possibility of the NBA adopting a new franchise. Seattle and Las Vegas were cities that talked about having a team. The idea of Vegas having a team has been loved by many.

Warriors Rejected Klay Thompson’s Two-Year, $40 Million Offer

According to multiple reports, Klay Thompson and his agent brought several contract proposals to the Golden State Warriors before the start of free agency. However, management wasn’t having it.

The latest offer was a two-year, $40 million deal. The Warriors shot down this very cheap, reasonable deal. This was after Thompson came to terms with having an Andre Igudola-type role at Golden State.

Golden State wanted him to come off the bench behind Brandin Podziemski, prompting the team to take a different financial approach. Mike Dunleavy Jr. sought names like Mikal Bridges, Lauri Markkanen, LeBron James, and Paul George.

About two weeks after the Warriors rejected his final offer on June 1st, Thompson decided that he needed to find himself with a different team and finish his journey somewhere else. This led to him signing with the Dallas Mavericks on a three-year, $50 million deal.
