Pistons and Kings finalize a trade before the deadline! Not even a day left for the trade deadline and the Pistons and Kings are making some moves happen. Not huge, significant moves but still solid ones.

The Pistons will be trading Delon Wright to the Kings in exchange for Cory Joseph and two second-round picks. The Kings will be giving over an 2021 and 2024 second-round pick. They basically went player-for-player then just having one side give over draft picks.

While that may seem insignificant currently, but depending on how many they have it could build up. Plus, you never know for sleeper rounds within the second. Good players could always spring up.

For fun here are their stats:

Cory Joseph is averaging 6/2/2 this season for his ex-team, the Kings.

Delon Wright is averaging 10/4/5 on the season, solid stats as he is making $8.5 million guaranteed over the course of next year.

Despite having to give up two draft picks, Wright is not a bad player and he is a great coming-off-the-bench type player. By him averaging 10/4/5 per game, in theory, that is a win. Plus, put him alongside some of the talent that is already in Sacramento. For example, the rookie, Tyrese Haliburton, De’Andre Fox, and Buddy Hield. All three players can be playmakers, great shooters, drivers, etc.

For the Pistons, they are looking to rebuild. They have been trying to trade away everyone, I.E. the likes of Blake Griffin and a potential buy-out/trade of Andre Drummond. So those picks can help and just trying to get this long process over, they just got to play it smart. Their first mistake was allowing Stan Van Gundy to ruin that team. Have never been the same.
