According to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon, the most likely landing destination of Russell Westbrook are the Sacramento Kings. A return to the Denver Nuggets seems unlikely at this point in time.

Other teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder were in play, but now that seems unlikely as well. All signs point to Westbrook continuing his career in Sacramento.

Denver saw sparks of productivity from Westbrook, but management felt as though bringing back Bruce Brown Jr. as his replacement was the better option.

If the 36-year-old were to sign with the Kings, it would his sixth team in the last seven seasons.

According to multiple reports, spearheaded by ESPN, it has been found out that Jonathan Kuminga is very much against the two-year extension the Golden State Warriors offered him.

He would rather take the $7.9 million qualifying and test his worth in the next offseason. Golden State wanted him to agree to a team-option and giving up his inherent no-trade clause, so that they have a better chance of trading him when they want.

Not only does Kuminga not want to be on a team-friendly deal, but the 22-year-old has no desire to be traded mid-season.

Kuminga has until October 1st to sign the qualifying offer.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, confirmed by the organization, head coach Joe Mazzulla has signed a mutli-year extension with the Boston Celtics. It became official Friday morning.

Since the indefinite suspension, and subsequent exit, of now Houston Rockets coach Ime Udoka, Mazzulla took over as the coach of the Celtics. He has been on a path of excellency and fulfilling high standards.

In his first season, the 37-year-old led the Celtics to the Eastern Conference Finals. The following year, in 2024, Mazzulla took them to the NBA Finals and won in five against Dallas Mavericks – when Luka Doncic played for the organization.

“This is truly a blessing,” said Mazzulla. “I would not be here without my faith, my wife, and my children. We are thankful for the partnership with our ownership groups, Brad’s mentorship, and the support of our staff. Most importantly, I am grateful for the players I have been able to coach the past three seasons. I look forward to competing for the Celtics and the city of Boston.”
