Sunday afternoon, fans saw the NBA Draft Lottery unfold and see the Washington Wizards win the lottery. They had the best odds of winning the lottery, as fans also saw the Chicago Bulls get incredible draft luck by landing at four, and the Los Angeles Clippers secured the fifth overall pick (due to the Ivica Zubac trade involving the Indiana Pacers).

The last time Washington won the lottery was back in 2010, the John Wall selection.

Plus, fans saw the Utah Jazz land the second overall pick and the Memphis Grizzlies land the third overall pick. It’s expected league-wide that there will be some combination of AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer and Caleb Wilson within those first four picks of the upcoming draft.

June 23rd and 24th is when the two-day NBA draft event is set to take place.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the league has concluded that Victor Wembanyama will not be suspended for Game 5 after throwing a very intentional, Flagrant 2 elbow to the neck of Naz Reid during Game 4’s loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

No suspensions or fines will be issued for this act. Referee Zach Zarba upgraded the call to a flagrant foul 2 for excessive contact above the neck, connecting slightly to his jaw, after video review seeing clear windup and intent to strike after collecting the offensive rebound.

Game 5 is set to take place on Tuesday in San Antonio.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Milwaukee Bucks have officially listed Giannis Antetokounmpo on the trade block to field offers and see the level of interest teams have in him.

Milwaukee is hoping for this to be said and done before the NBA Draft on June 23-24, as they continue to want a blue-chip player and a number of draft picks.

“Sometime over the next six or seven weeks we’ll decide whether Giannis is going to sign a max contract and stay with us or he’s going to play somewhere else,” co-owner Jimmy Haslam said Wednesday. “And Jon and Taylor, along with Wes and myself, will make that call and we understand the gravity of that call.”

Since the 2025 draft lottery, Antetokounmpo has expressed interest in ending their relationship and moving onto a different team. The 31-year-old had strong interest in the New York Knicks months ago.

Throughout the season, Antetokounmpo dealt with groin, calf, and knee injuries. This limited to him only being able to appear in 36 games.

The Minnesota Timberwolves, Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors, Knicks, and Los Angeles Lakers have shown interest in trading for the two-time MVP and one-time NBA champion.
