Ty Lue is hired as the next HC for the Clippers!

Ty Lue is hired as the next HC for the Clippers! It is becoming more and more official as Ty Lue is becoming the successor of Doc Rivers. Yep, everything you just read is correct. He is your new head coach for the LA Clippers.

The reports have been flowing for the past few minutes now, on Ty Lue becoming the next HC of this franchise. Rumors have been surrounding him the past few days of him getting a head coaching job; either with the Pelicans or with the Clippers.

The main reason why they are hiring him for this position would be the fact that he won a championship back in 2016 with the Cavs. They think his high level of championship knowledge and understanding of the playoffs will help them win one; or at least come close to one. Plus, to me, they also hired him because of the way he controls egos. Look, he had to deal with LeBron’s massive ego and Kyrie’s massive ego, that is no walk in the park. So, the Clippers are like if he can do it with those two then he can do it for PG13 and the Klaw.

Doc Rivers was originally on the Clippers, but they had a falling out. That ultimately leaves the Clippers searching for someone new, which that just found. Also, Chauncey Billups is going to be on Ty Lue’s coaching staff. Hold up, before we make that official. He has the chance to become the Pacer’s new head coach, he is interviewing for that position. More will be brought onto that when more news come out.

Overall, Ty Lue is an NBA Champion. More than that he has led the Cavs to the NBA Finals three straight times; plus, having a 128-83 record in his entire career.

Ivica Zubac Signs Extension With Clippers

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Los Angeles Clippers have extended Ivica Zubac’s contract. This extension will have him under contract through 2027-28.

The 27-year-old will make $70 million over the next four years. For those that didn’t know, Zubac was in a contract year. His former contract signed was a three-year, $32.8 million deal.

Zubac’s new contract with Los Angeles is the most he could have received under the new NBA’s CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement).

Last season, he averaged 11.7 points (career-high) and 9.2 rebounds in 68 appearances.

Ty Lue On The Clippers Being Doubted After Losing Paul George: 'I Can't Wait To Prove Everyone Wrong'

Many fear that the Los Angeles Clippers will regress due to the fact that they no longer have Paul George, who joined the Philadelphia 76ers, but head coach Ty Lue isn’t phased at all.

In fact, this motivates him, and he wants to prove everyone wrong. The 47-year-old believes still having Kawhi Leonard and James Harden makes them competitive.

“When you lose a guy of Paul George’s stature, instantly people [think] oh, they can’t win or they’re not going to be competitive,” Lue told ESPN last week. “But that just challenges me even more. OK, people are counting us out or people don’t think we’re going to be good. That right there just gives me an extra dose of [motivation].

“I can’t wait to prove everybody wrong.”

Lue is very confident about Harden and that they will be able to have an entire offseason together, and it’s not so rushed.

All eyes will be on Lue and Los Angeles, as they’ll be under the most pressure to show fans and the league that not paying George was the correct decision.

Clippers Refused Trading Paul George To Warriors

According to The Athletic’s Tim Kawakami, Paul George wanted to join the Golden State Warriors, but the Los Angeles Clippers blocked him from teaming up with Stephen Curry. None of the offers satisfied Golden State.

They would give up significant assets to land George and give him the contract he was looking for, but Trent Redden had no interest in helping Mike Dunleavy Jr. evolve their roster. What Los Angeles did was essentially force Golden State into a no-win situation, as the only way to get the aging superstar was through an agreed sign-and-trade.

Jonathan Kuminga, Andrew Wiggins, Moses Moody, Chris Paul, and a first-round pick were offered for the 34-year-old. What’s even crazier is the fact Dunleavy Jr. was ready to give up their coveted young players to have the ultimate duo of Curry and George.

Despite the player and opposing team wanting this and the Warriors willing to give up anything, the Clippers didn’t want to do business with them.

Curry and Draymond Green gave the thumbs up to this trade, which would have been massive considering Klay Thompson’s situation. The Clippers being “petty” and instead seeing him walk rather than take the talent has the NBA world in a frenzy right now.
