Wembanyama and Henderson shine in first exhibition matchup

These two 18-year-old prospects put on a show after French club Metropolitans 92 and G League Ignite agreed to play a pair of exhibition games. People hoped for a show and they got it as it was a very entertaining game between the projected number one and number two draft picks.

Victor Wembanyama balled out with 37 points off of 11-of-20 from the field, including 7-of-11 from beyond the arc. Even more impressive than that was him blocking five shots that showed off of his skill and supernatural wingspan.

Scoot Henderson, who showed off his driving abilities and good-looking jump shot, also balled out with 28 points. He went 11-of-21 from the field to guide his team, the Ignite, to a victory.

The final score was 122-115. A very competitive game between the top two prospects of the 2023 NBA Draft.

Many top names surrounding the NBA and WNBA came out to witness a spectacular matchup and limitless talent on display.

Donte DiVincenzo (Toe) Won't Need Surgery

According to the Minnesota Timberwolves, Donte DiVincenzo will be out for at least three weeks but not require surgery on his toe.

Dr. J. Chris Coetzee evaluated him at Twin Cities Orthopedics for a stress fluoroscopy of the left big toe, and the exam revealed a stable turf toe injury with a partial tear of the plantar ligament.

Fans have been told that they will receive updates as his rehab progresses, but he will be out for almost a month.

The 27-year-old averages 11.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.8 assists in 26.4 minutes. This is his first season with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

According to Marc Stein, Zach LaVine is letting his feelings be known that he wants to remain with the Chicago Bulls past the NBA trade deadline.

Despite both sides wanting to find a trade for the 29-year-old last season, both sides have changed their mindset considerably where the relationship can be saved and continue.

LaVine has two years left on his contract, with him making $95 million over that time period.

Chicago has had LaVine on their team since 2017-18.

Jimmy Butler Open To Play Anywhere But Memphis

According to ESPN’s Marc J. Spears, Jimmy Butler is willing to play anywhere except the Memphis Grizzlies and Miami Heat.

While he would join the Washington Wizards to prove a point to Pat Riley, he has maintained his desire to become a member of the Phoenix Suns.

It is unclear why the superstar player has Memphis on the Do-Not-Trade list, but he has made his feelings known. Currently, the 35-year-old is serving another team-imposed suspension for refusing to fly with the team to Milwaukee.

The trade deadline is February 6th.
