Alvin Gentry agrees to join the King’s HC Staff! As things are looking currently, the Kings will be signing Alvin Gentry to a contract to be an associate head coach. It was originally looking like Gentry was going to sign with the 76er’s coaching staff, but plans are changing.
Alvin Gentry, who was a former HC for the Pelicans, with being on the staff of Luke Walton’s king’s team. This is great news for the Kings since both men knew each other when on the Warriors back in 2014-2015. Also, when the Warriors won the NBA Finals.
This will be a very strong hire for the Kings as he brings a lot to the table. First of all, being a veteran in the NBA. This is in the sense that he has seen the NBA transform from when he got started in 1988 to now. That has been 30 years. This is great for the Kings also because they have two staff members who already know each other. Plus, both how well they can work together.
The last head coaching job Gentry had was when he was fired a month ago by the Pelicans. He has been with the Pelicans for the past five seasons, now he starts a new journey.
