Knicks have re-signed Taj Gibson!

Knicks have re-signed Taj Gibson! Announcing this move yesterday, Thursday, it has become official today. Even though he did re-sign with the team, he wasn’t immediately as he was a free agent for some time.

This means they needed to create a roster spot for Gibson; which meant that former Knicks’ forward, Omari Spellman, was waived yesterday. The Knicks, before the start of the season, did waive Gibson as he was set to make $9.45 million dollars.

Within a month or so, the team has made the decision to re-sign as the Knicks are having a good start to the season. Surprisingly, starting off on a 5-3 record; a winning record. This is behind the talent of RJ Barrett and Julius Randle, just to name a few.

Also, an important note, the terms of his contract has not been detailed. More on that topic will be presented through our social media, which will be presented at the bottom of this post.

Taj Gibson is averaging, across his career, 9.5 points ad 6.3 rebounds through 799 games played.

According to ESPN’s Bobby Marks and Shams Charania, the New York Knicks are waiving Landry Shamet after he suffered a dislocated right shoulder.

The 27-year-old agreed to a non-guaranteed Exhibit 9 contract earlier in the offseason; many within the organization expected him to make the roster and have quality minutes. However, this injury has derailed those plans.

New York has three roster spots available; they must sign two players to meet the required 14-player roster.

When Shamet gets healthy, they will consider bringing him back.

Landry Shamet Suffers Dislocated Right Shoulder Injury

According to Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes, the New York Knicks will have to adjust plans after learning of Landry Shamet’s newest injury.

New York’s PR team confirmed the injury to the 27-year-old.

Shamet, who was expected to make the roster, has suffered a dislocated right shoulder injury and will be out indefinitely.

The Knicks hope he doesn’t require surgery, but Shamet is still being evaluated. SNY’s Ian Begley reported this piece of information.

Currently, Shamet is working on an Exhibit 9 contract. An Exhibit 9 contract is an invitation to training camp.

Landry Shamet Expected To Make The Knicks Roster

According to The Athletic’s Fred Katz, the New York Knicks will most likely keep Landry Shamet on their roster after having him go through a roster battle with other players.

Since New York is up against the hard cap, they’ll only be able to get Shamet and a rookie on a minimum salary on their roster.

“I don’t make the final decision on that, but I’m basing it on what [Shamet’s] done on the floor. He’s really done well,” Thibodeau said.

Tom Thibodeau loved what he saw from Shamet and wants him on the roster. An official decision should be made soon.
