Trading Malcolm Brogdon is most likely going to happen

Marc Stein has revealed that there is a great chance of Brogdon getting traded. The Pacers look to move on from the talented player, why? Well, when they signed him to an extension, they thought they could use him. Brogdon is a heck of a player that is currently averaging 19 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds per game; but, there are some issues.

Since entering the NBA in 2016, formerly drafted by the Bucks and playing three seasons with them before moving to the Pacers, he has never been healthy. Never once has he completed an entire season 100%, never played 82 games in one season. Injuries have proven to be his downfall, which kills most careers that are plagued by this devastating result.

It is being reported that since Indiana traded for Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield from the Sacramento Kings, they have moved on from Brogdon. Malcolm Brogdon is no longer viewed the same way Halliburton is being viewed; which is the centerpiece of that team. This Pacer’s team is rebuilding, that means that they are wasting no time in figuring out who is going to be the centerpiece.

Halliburton would be that guy, not Brogdon.

Question: Why wasn’t he traded at the deadline a couple of months ago?

Since signing that extension, he couldn’t be traded. His contract doesn’t start until next season, the 2023-24 season, which means he couldn’t be traded this season. But come this summer, he is eligible to be traded – and that is looking to become more and more true as the weeks roll past us.

Indiana is in rebuild-mode, so if they could have traded him during the 2022 Trade Deadline, they would have. Simple as that.

Scoot Henderson, Malcolm Brogdon Close To Returning

Chauncey Billups, Portland’s head coach, has given fans a very positive update regarding two key players’ health and when they should be able to return. The Trail Blazers were down to one healthy point guard, now that number is expected to go up.

Malcolm Brogdon, who’s been dealing with a strained hamstring, is “really close” to returning to the team. While no date was provided, it’s quite possible his return is within the next week or two.

However, Billups did provide an update on Scoot Henderson and a potential date. It appears he can be back within the next week, which is huge after his return got delayed due to a discovered bone bruise.

The 3-10 Blazers desperately need to be healthy again and are looking for Brogdon and Henderson to contribute big-time.

Celtics have traded for Malcolm Brogdon

Malcolm Brogdon has been on the Pacer’s trade block for a while since signing his new contract last October. It worked out well for both sides as one side needed to get rid of a playmaker and one side needed to get a true playmaker.

The trade has the Celtics shipping over Daniel Theis, Aaron Nesmith and a 2023 first round pick. Plus, as reported by multiple people, they will include Nik Stauskas, Malik Fitts and Juwan Morgan.

The Celtics only received Malcolm Brogdon – nothing else, unless new information comes out in the coming hours.

This is a good pickup by the Celtics, why? Because they picked up a playmaker that can limit the turnovers for them, run the court, has great court vision, and is a good scorer. The Celtics now don’t have to rely upon Jaylen Brown all the time.

Again, as said in the opening paragraph, a win-win for both sides.
