According to multiple reports, confirmed by the Memphis Grizzlies, Ja Morant is a true game-time decision for their must-watch win-or-go-home game against the Dallas Mavericks.
Due to the sprained right ankle injury, their franchise player missed Thursday’s practice. According to ESPN, Morant is receiving constant around-the-clock treatment to get his ankle in any condition to stave off elimination.
Right now, the 25-year-old is experiencing “significant” swelling in the ankle. He suffered the injury in Tuesday’s game against the Golden State Warriors. Morant landed on Buddy Hield’s foot, which caused him to roll the ankle and needed immediate medical attention.
Despite the pain and constant limping, he finished the game with 22 points on 9/18 shooting. Even though the comeback was in the making, Memphis did fall to Stephen Curry’s team in the final seconds of the game.
“If he’s physically able to do it, he will do it. It’s a legitimate game-time decision,” said Tuomas Iisalo.
For those that are unaware, or forgot, Tuomas Iisalo is the Grizzlies current interim head coach. He’s filling in until they find former head coach Taylor Jenkins permanent replacement.
