According to the man himself, Adam Silver says a new European league could launch by 2028. The projected year is between 2027 and 2028.

This type of basketball league will be backed by the NBA and FIBA, as Silver described this date to be “ambitious.” While the year has been cemented, no exact date has been determined.

“I don’t think I’d want to go much longer than ’28,” Silver said as a conference hosted by Front Office Sports. “The opportunity is now to do something like this.”

“Basketball’s probably the fastest-growing sport in the world right now, and it’s a huge No. 2 sport in Europe behind soccer, so I think there’s a real opportunity,” Silver said.

Commissioner Silver says him and deputy commissioner Mark Tatum have had fruitful and positive conversations with political leaders and possible stakeholders about the creation of this new league.

JPMorgan Chase and Raine Group were brought in last month to advise on the build of this league.

According to The Athletic’s Sam Amick, the continued belief coming from the Sacramento organization is that Jonathan Kuminga wants to be a King.

This is revving up even more due to the off-and-on talks between the Golden State Warriors and the 22-year-old.

Reportedly, Sacramento was ready to send a 2030 first-round pick and Malik Monk to Golden State for the superstar prospect. This would have saw Kuminga sign a three-year, $63 million contract.

Whether it is the Kings or another team, to acquire Kuminga, it would have to come through a sign-and-trade.

Kuminga only appeared in 47 games last season. During those appearances, he averaged 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists.

In the end, Kuminga wants a larger role than the one he currently has with the Warriors. It’s believed he would get that if on the Kings.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the San Antonio Spurs and free agent Bismack Biyombo have come to terms on a one-year contract that will see him return to the franchise for the upcoming season.

After signing with San Antonio last February to give them depth at the center position, Biyombo appeared in 28 games averaging 5.1 points and 5.6 rebounds.
