BREAKING: LeBron James and the Cavs could be reuniting!

The time has come as LeBron James and the Lakers could be done for good. In an interview with The Athletic, the door is “not closed” to return to Cleveland. A return that could have a fairy-tale ending.

“I’m not saying I’m coming back and playing, I don’t know. I don’t know what my future holds. I don’t even know when I’m free.”

Today is the NBA All-Star Game as James is under contract till the 2023-24 season, which will be his 21st season. Why is this all important? This all revolves around his son and wanting to finish his career out by playing with Bronny James Jr.

He doesn’t want to take a pay-cut… but will (confusing)

He has stated in that interview that he isn’t willing to take a pay-cut after his two-year, $85 million dollar contract with the Lakers. However, he didn’t shut the door on any expectations to taking a pay-cut. A rational question a person can ask is this: What-if the Cavaliers, or another team, gets Bronny, would that force LeBron James to take a pay-cut?

Fair question to ask as that could be the number one exception. Rumors have been speculating since news broke of LeBron wanting to play with his son that he would leave Los Angeles; so no one would be entirely surprised if he did leave for Cleveland, or any team that selects Bronny.

Here is a quote from the interview by LeBron James:

“My last year will be played with my son,” James said. “Wherever Bronny is at, that’s where I’ll be. I would do whatever it takes to play with my son for one year. It’s not about the money at that point.”

Whether he plays with the Lakers for another year, or he plays with the Cavaliers, it all just comes down to where Bronny goes in the 2024 NBA Draft. Small Market, Big Market, any market may not matter to LeBron. A future 39-year-old will only have so much left in the tank and his final mindset will just be playing with his son. Does he want to win another championship?

Most likely, however, coming at the end of the his career many have to wonder if his main goal is to play with his son. A bold prediction is this: the 2024 NBA Draft will be one of the most talked drafts since the 2019 NBA Draft. Zion Williamson was the most talked, and hyped-up, player in that draft class and now can be the same for Bronny.

Do not be shocked if the entire sports world goes for the Bronny narrative and what will happen exactly. It will be truly interesting as LeBron has choices to make and teams will make a run for Bronny; get Bronny, get LeBron. It is going to get interesting. I will be watching for this as the year 2024 is coming fast; to me, this is going to be huge as even a 39-year-old LeBron is going to be tough to handle.
