Buddy Hield, Pacers Begun Talks To Find Trade Partner

It appears the end of an “era” is here between former Sacramento Kings player Buddy Hield and the Indiana Pacers.

Both sides couldn’t agree to an extension so their next best move is to part ways. Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, Indiana will begin to talk with teams to find the 30-year-old a new home.

An expectation is that multiple teams will be wanting Hield and that this will go into training camp. Hield is in the last year of his contract and wants to feel appreciated, which is one of the reasons why he is leaving Indiana.

“I love Buddy,” Pacers president of basketball operations Kevin Pritchard said in April. “There’s some things that he does that’s not on the court, the way he keeps practice light.”

This relationship lasted for two seasons, where he averaged 17.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in 106 games. For more information, he started 99 games.
