Kevin Durant could demand to be traded soon

Per Woj of ESPN, there is a chance that Kevin Durant requests another trade out of Brooklyn. That isn’t hard to picture with how the Nets are playing currently and the many distractions they are facing on and off the court as a whole.

So, yes, a trade demand could be in the works if their season continues to go as it is. Brooklyn is currently in tenth with a record of 4-6, which is dramatically underperforming given their hopes and predictions of how the season would go.

Here is the full quote from ESPN:

“The concern certainly in Brooklyn is: How long does Kevin Durant hang in there with the losing, with the instability right now?” Wojnarowski said. “You can imagine a scenario where Kevin Durant perhaps revisits his request from the summer at some point. Although, I don’t believe that’s a consideration right now for him.”

After missing six games, it is being reported by The Athletic that Durant will be looking to make his return this Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves. That game will be in Phoenix, which will mark his first home game as a member of the Phoenix Suns.

His potential return Wednesday marks exactly three weeks since he suffered the ankle sprain. Durant hasn’t played since March 8th.

If Kevin Durant does return Wednesday, then the Suns will have to play three more games – Kings, 76ers, Jazz – without him. The better news being Phoenix has seven games remaining once Durant returns.

The Suns are 3-0 with Kevin Durant on their roster.

Shams reported two weeks, Woj reported two-three weeks, but the Suns publicly confirmed that Durant will be out for the next three weeks.

At the end of the third week, Phoenix will reevaluate him to determine if he is fit to return to the starting lineup. An MRI has confirmed the organization’s fears by diagnosing him with a left ankle sprain.

The injury occurred during warmups before the Suns-Thunder game on Wednesday. Durant left the Footprint Center in a walking boot.
