After Joe Harris was traded from Brooklyn to the Detroit Pistons, it was clear as day Cam Johnson would be re-signing with the Nets.

Johnson agreed to a four-year, $108 million deal that gives him the biggest contract of his entire career.

Cam Johnson was a restricted free agent, so even if Detroit were to offer him serious money, Brooklyn would have matched it to keep him.

Brooklyn has been serious about keeping Cam Johnson once they acquired him in the blockbuster Kevin Durant trade involving the Phoenix Suns. They’ve rejected trade offers and were prepared to offer him bigger money than what Phoenix wanted to offer him.

The 27-year-old went from turning down a $78 million offer from the Suns to accepting a $108 million offer from the Nets. He’ll be making $27 million per year.
