According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Boston Celtics have confirmed through an MRI that superstar Jayson Tatum has suffered a torn right Achilles.

While Boston expects Tatum to make a full recovery, he is more than likely to be out for all out next season. A devastating blow after he led them to the NBA Finals and signing a shattering $314 million deal.

The injury occurred during the late stages of Game 4 against the New York Knicks. This was a non-contact injury where he couldn’t put any weight on that injured leg.

Fans saw him being carried off the court and immediately on a wheelchair to get medical attention.

Despite the loss and injury, the 27-year-old left it all out on the court. He recorded 42 points, eight rebounds, four assists, four steals, and two blocks.

According to multiple reports, the Sacramento Kings are expected to take offers on DeMar DeRozan. With Scott Perry becoming the new general manager, he may want to become aggressive and take a new approach with this organization.

The past regime brought DeRozan in through a sign-and-trade worth $74 million over the course of three years. By doing this, it would set up a “Big 3” around him, De’Aaron Fox, and Domantas Sabonis.

However, it all began to fall apart when Fox was traded to the San Antonio Spurs after both sides had a falling out. Sacramento was seen remodeling their team, which included Fox and former head coach Mike Brown.

Before the Kings decided to trade Fox, DeRozan went public saying he would “reconsider his future” with the team if they traded his teammate. The organization went through with the deal, as they could be looking to shop the veteran as well.

For a win-now team, trading for DeRozan could be the smartest option. He’s a great piece to a championship-contending team, plus a cheaper option. If being compared to the likes of Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

With Sacramento recognizing that, they may find it more favorable to trade him than to keep him. This would presumably launch a full rebuild around Sabonis and Zach LaVine.

According to Marc Stein, the Miami Heat and Minnesota Timberwolves are expected to show interest in Kevin Durant over the offseason. Miami has been linked to Durant since he was traded to the Phoenix Suns, with Minnesota being linked since this past trade deadline.

With the Houston Rockets reportedly “less likely” to trade for the aging veteran, and other teams not interested in gutting their team for him, Durant’s likeliest options are these two teams.

Pat Riley added fuel to these rumors and reports by saying the Heat will not run back their current roster and will make changes.

It’s also been confirmed by reports that Anthony Edwards would love to play alongside Durant, who he eliminated in last year’s postseason.
