Thomas Bryant traded to Nuggets
The Los Angeles Lakers traded Thomas Bryant to the Denver Nuggets for Davon Reed and three second-round picks. Those picks being in 2025, 2026, and 2029.
Many were shocked initially that the Lakers traded away the 12/6 center, but many soon realized that Bryant requested a trade once Anthony Davis came back from being injured. He felt as though he deserved a better role with more minutes, that is the main reason behind the trade request.
Soon after trading Bryant, Los Angeles traded for Mo Bamba to replace him. Lakers only had to give up a pick, cash, and Patrick Beverley to acquire Bamba.
Jarred Vanderbilt and Wenyen Gabriel will take Bryant’s minutes; Vanderbilt is the former Utah Jazz player that was sent over to L.A. in the massive three-way trade involving the Lakers-Timerwolves-Jazz.
Davon Reed earned a Denver roster spot last summer after playing on several 10-day contracts last season. Reed’s been playing very well in the limited role given to him on Denver, only resulting in him playing 9 minutes per game. Ended his tenure with the Nuggets only playing 35 games.
Overall, the Lakers were pretty active come the deadline and made many moves that positions them to make a good run for the postseason.
