Thunder picks up team option on Lu Dort

The Thunder have confirmed, mainly through Sam Presti (general manager), that they have picked up the team option on Lu Dort. The team option is set for $1.9 million dollars for the upcoming season.

The 23-year-old have been climbing up the ranks with improving numbers each season – since coming into the league in 2019. He went from 6.8 points (rookie season) to 17.2 points (last season), huge increase and something that deserves a new contract.

Last season, in 51 games, he averaged 17/4/1 per game. His last played game was on February 12th with a shoulder injury, which required season-ending surgery.

News concerning Dort and Rivers! While this may not be the most exciting breaking news, it still concerns the words of breaking and news. The OKC Thunder are making some moves and some adjustments are happening to their lineup.

Let’s start with Rivers:

The Thunder, and CourtSideHeat, have reported that Austin Rivers is being waived from the team after acquiring from trade. That trade was with three other teams, which allowed them to shop George Hill to Philly.

Rumors and confirmed sources around the league said that the Thunder had no plans with him in the future. Why? Because they were moving in a different direction, with a newer and younger group.

Also, he is not like his father, Doc Rivers, Austin Rivers is just Rivers. Nothing special, just a good bench player.

Finally, we have Lu Dort:

Injury report time! Lu Dort, reported by OKC, has suffered a concussion. Due to this injury he will be put into concussion protocols.

Dort does not have a set timetable as he needs to clear benchmarks in order to make his return. All we know is the fact that he will be unavailable for some time.
