He is now the former president and general manager of the Golden State Warriors, Myers has officially announced his departure from the Golden State Warriors.
Bob Myers stated in his end-of-season press conference that it wasn’t about money and wanted to spend more time with family since he wasn’t as connected as he usually is each season.
This storied dynasty provided four championships and two executive awards to the name of Bob Myers.
Bob Myers Cried To Stephen Curry After Leaving Warriors
Bob Myers made many friends and shared many moments with plenty of people, but his number one guy during his tenure with the Warriors was Stephen Curry.
Beyond winning the four championships with Curry, his personal relationship with the greatest shooter of all time was something supernatural. The relationship was so incredible that it moved Myers to tears when he left Golden State.
“When I decided I was leaving, I went to see him for dinner. I cried when I told him I was done,” Myers recalled. “Mostly because I felt like I wasn’t going to see him every day. Not because I’m ‘giving up another chance to win a championship.’ None of that. It was more like this person’s not going to be in my life as much as they used to be and I’m doing this to myself.”
It is definitely hard not to be around your long-time friend that much after so many years of always seeing each other, with all the different emotions being felt throughout the years.
