James Wiseman is set to play on Sunday during the Summer League

Wiseman is set to make his return to the court this upcoming Sunday, which is tomorrow. It was announced by several reports that Wiseman will be playing his first basketball game since March 15th. March 15th was when he played for the Warriors‘ G-League team.

While recovering from a knee injury, which cost him the entirety of last season, has been ramping up his workload to make a comeback to the court. Now, when he was ramping up his workload, he did experience a setback. Sadly, Wiseman experienced more pain in his knee and cost him even more time.

Now James Wiseman is back and ready to get back to the swing of things. This Sunday is going to show the Warriors, and the fanbase, what Wiseman has in the tank to push him towards a role with the team again for the upcoming season.

Another setback prohibits the return of James Wiseman

At some point you have to feel bad for the second-year player as he has had some terrible luck. Since last year, when it was November and before Thanksgiving, he was stated to return that week. However, plans changed once more and did not allow for the big-man to make his season debut with the Warriors.

Golden State reported that we could see James Wiseman return; that was something very, very realistic. How so? It got very real after being sent to Santa Cruz to play in the G-League to get warmed back up before called up officially to play in the NBA.

Sadly, after three games of playing in the G-League, the young center has suffered a setback. Wiseman is reportedly dealing with swelling in his right knee, that occurred in his third game with Santa Cruz.

Every time he gets ramped up in his on-and-off the court activities, something always goes sideways. It is either pain or swelling – or maybe another issue or two that isn’t listed – for Golden State, his probability of playing this season is getting slimmer and slimmer. They only have 12 games left on the season and for him to come back for even one is unlikely. Not impossible, just unlikely in multiple cases.

He won’t play this Sunday as he has missed the past two practices with the Warrior’s G-League affiliation.

James Wiseman return status updated and it looks SPECIAL! Want some good news to cheer yourself up on this beautiful day? Well, here you go: Wiseman is stated, per multiple sources, to have a chance to come back during Thanksgiving week.

The second-year center will be getting some action come Thanksgiving week, as the Warriors would open their arms wide open to receive the impact he is going to bring. While the team is on their four-game road trip, Wiseman will be staying behind to do individual training and possible scrimmages with the Warrior’s G-League team: Santa Cruz Warriors.

So, when the Warriors get back into The Bay; that is when we are most likely to see Wiseman, which will be huge for the Warriors as they hoping to continue their amazing start to the season.

Refreshing your memory on what happened last season to Wiseman:

April 10th, against the Houston Rockets, James Wiseman went up for the dunk but landed awkwardly. It was later stated that he was done with the season due to a meniscus tear in his knee. Tough break, but good news: he should be back within the next two weeks. How about that for some good news? Now, we will see how Wiseman meshes into this new Warrior’s roster.

James Wiseman appears to be done with the season due to a GRUESOME injury!

James Wiseman appears to be done with the season due to a GRUESOME injury! Not what the 25-28 Warriors want as they are trying to get into the eighth seed, they currently reside at the tenth seed.

The injury bug has been affecting the NBA as of late, most notably with the Lakers. However, the Warriors have had their fair share of injuries. Most recognizable with Curry, Green, etc. Now add Wiseman to the list.

Unfortunately his season may be over with, how? Well, here is the reported injury. He suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee. He hit the ground hard after going up for a dunk.

The timeline for him is unknown, but optimistically the doctors and the team will see if he can make a return for the season. Or at the least see how long he is out for.
