Josh Green Agrees To $41M Extension

The young forward and the Dallas Mavericks have come together on an extension to secure him for the foreseeable future. One of the main reasons why a deal got done was because of Josh Green’s breakout season.

In the 60 games he played, the soon-to-be 23-year-old had career highs in points per game and his field/3PT percentage. Green averaged 9.1 points off 53.7% from the field.

He’s known as a 3-and-D wing that Dallas is going to be using a lot to compliment the skillset of Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic. Dallas is hoping, with the addition of former Boston Celtics’ player Grant Williams, this team can go to higher levels than seen before.

Both sides agreed to a three-year, $41 million contract extension. This deal came right before Monday’s deadline at 6 P.M. ET for the 2020 draft class. Fourteen players from the 2020 draft class signed their extensions with their respective teams.
