According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Chicago Bulls are expected to see the return of Lonzo Ball for Wednesday’s game against the Orlando Magic.
Since October 28th, Ball has been dealing with a wrist sprain. An injury he suffered shortly after making his awaited two-year return to court due to his knee injury.
The 27-year-old has only appeared in three games of the possible eighteen. He’s missing Chicago’s NBA Cup game against the Washington Wizards and will join them in the second half of their back-to-back.
Since returning to the court, Ball has averaged 4.7 points and 3.7 assists in 15.7 minutes.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Lonzo Ball is set to play in his first game in almost three years after dealing with multiple knee injuries for a long time.
The 26-year-old will play an undisclosed amount of minutes on Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Ball hasn’t played in a game since January of 2022, as Chicago was 27-13 in the Eastern Conference with one of the best records at that time.
A team official confirmed this to Charania, which is a massive comeback. The combo guard’s career averages are 11.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 6.2 assists in 252 games.
During the Chicago Bulls media day, Josh Giddey revealed to the public that he suffered a torn ligament in his ankle during the final Olympic game for Australia.
While this is considered a serious injury, the 21-year-old says he should be ready by opening night. Chicago’s opening night is an away game against the New Orleans Pelicans on October 23rd.
For those who don’t remember, Alex Caruso was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Giddey. This deal benefited both sides, but the Bulls have Giddey’s potential rookie scale extension they could offer him. This will be monitored throughout the season, especially given the nature of their trade for him.
