Scott Perry has been re-signed by the Knicks! It has been reported that Perry, general manager, will resign to New York on a one-year deal. We knew he was going to be helping the Knicks out with the draft, but now we fully know that he will be back for next season.
It appears that Leon Rose, team president, still has respect and still has the mindset that he’s a good GM.
“Scott is a well-respected basketball executive who I have known for more than 20 years, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with him as we look to build a winning team in New York,” Rose said.
Perry has been with the Knicks for three seasons now, next season will be his fourth. Even though he hasn’t been with the Knicks a long time he has been in a front-office for about two decades, that experience probably is the reason why they kept him. Remember, Rose was an agent before leading the front-office and Rose and Perry are good friends. With Perry having all the experience and with Rose being good friends they’ll be able to relate to each other without getting mixed up.
I do believe, even though the Knicks have been having an tough franchise since having no good pieces to start, they could make a run for a 30-win season if they get a few pieces in the draft or potentially in free-agency.
Now, remember, if anybody wants to sign with the Knicks is a whole other story. Whoever the Knicks get during free agency or in the draft will know that this will be a process of not a season or two, but a matter of 3-4 years of rebuilding.
The conclusion to Scott Perry has been re-signed by the Knicks!
It will be interesting to see how everything unfolds because Perry’s staff hasn’t been confirmed yet to be let go or not. So we could be seeing some new changes or the same staff that walked into last season. Either way, the Knicks will be getting back their GM and will be trying to figure out their offseason, even though that is going to be very painful.
