Carmelo Anthony passes Hakeem Olajuwon on the All-Time Scoring List!

Carmelo Anthony passes Hakeem Olajuwon on the All-Time Scoring List! Huge news is surfacing last night and this morning that Carmelo Anthony is passing Olajuwon on the all-time scoring list. Yes, you read that correctly.

Olajuwon was in 11th place before Carmelo passed him up. He passed him by hitting a sweet jumper with 9 minutes to go in the fourth quarter.

Here is what Carmelo Anthony had to say about this achievement:

“I’m just happy to be here,” Anthony said. “I am still here is all that matters. I’m able to continue to play… I’m still here and I’m still climbing.”

“We all know what Hakeem did for the game,” Anthony said during an on-court interview. “The mark he left on this game is well beyond precedent.”

Knicks not interested in reunion with Melo

Rumors emerged that a possible reunion of Carmelo Anthony and New York was in the making, however, the Knicks have shut that down with many reasons to back up why it wouldn’t make sense to bring him back to the team.

The 38-year-old wouldn’t fit their defensive style and how they want to push up the ball offensively; head coach Tom Thibodeau just doesn’t see a compatible fit between the two sides, which makes sense as the tone/team has changed drastically since Melo departed the team.

Despite Obi Toppin being injured and Melo being in the right position, the Knicks are believed to be waiting out that injury and just making patching adjustments until the 24-year-old returns to the lineup. Toppin is currently dealing with a fibula issue, which is sidelining him for 2-3 weeks.

New York doesn’t want to give Melo minutes that would take away from Toppin’s development, they want to give them all the minutes that they can realistically give Toppin.

Don’t expect Carmelo Anthony to be a Celtic any time soon

Danilo Gallinari injuries himself, the Celtics need a replacement, and rumors are circulating of him becoming a part of the Boston franchise. Those rumors are being put to rest now as the team will give their other players the opportunity to earn Gallinari’s role while he is out for the foreseeable future.

Currently, as reported by many, the Celtics are not expected to bring in Anthony before training camp kicks off. However, that could change. But I suspect the Celtics will evaluate the replacement players they have, assess if they should make another move or not, and take it from there before the preseason begins.

I do want to say this, no one is ruling out the possibility of him becoming a Celtic. But, for the time being, they are not jumping to give him a try-out and/or sign him.
