John Wall, confirmed by Wizards, is not coming back this season! Since Wall is not returning to action; it will mark two years since playing in the NBA due to injuries.

The general manager of the Wizards, Tommy Shepard, said that Wall wasn’t going to make it back to the restart season. One factor that slowed down his progress through rehab was COVID-19. He couldn’t get any surgeries done due to the Coronavirus.

These are the following statements Wizards GM says about Wall:

“He definitely lost all the basketball gains that he had made,” Sheppard said on a video call with reporters. “He’s got to focus on what he’s got to do, but having somebody go into that bubble that’s not going to play, that’s just more people going into the bubble.”

Here is a statement given by the head chief of athletic care and performance:

“He’s been fantastic in keeping his weight and being active during all this period; and this will be a continuation of the work and the plan that we’ve done for him.” Daniel Medina said. “We’re going to make sure that his body and his mind are at the highest level for a safe and successful return when he comes back.”

Do the Wizards have a chance in the restart season?

The Wizards are in the restart season, but since Wall and Davis Bertans (opted out of the season) won’t be there it will make their chances slightly mire difficult.

They entered this restart season by being half a game out of eighth place behind the Orlando Magic. They have a record of 24-40. Anything is possible, but a lot of factors need to work out in their favor (which might not happen).

Even if they lose this restart season, that’s fine. Why? Because they have next season to look forward to as they get to have Davis Bertans back and, hopefully, John Wall.
