Stephen Curry returns after missing 58 games this season

Published

on

Stephen Curry will be returning tonight against the Raptors as it is a NBA Finals rematch, the Warriors did announce yesterday night that he was finally medically cleared to participate in games.

It has been 58 games since we saw Curry, he broke his left hand on October 30th when he fell on it against the Suns. To ensure he was healthy to play again they had him scrimmage with their G-Legaue team, Santa Cruz Warriors.

They called him back up two days later, Curry was rumored to have returned against the Wizards last Sunday night but a setback occurred. In just four games he has played in the team is 1-3 and he is averaging 20 points per game, 6 assists per game, and 5 rebounds per game.

This is what Andrew Wiggins had to say about Curry returning:

“I’m very excited. I feel like everybody is,” Wiggins said. “He’s the type of player that single handedly he’s going to come and change the way everyone plays for the better. So, I’m excited. He’s a game-changer.”

Sidenote: the Warriors have already ruled out the possibility of Klay Thompson, Curry’s Splash Brother, coming back since tearing his ACL against the Raptors in the NBA Finals.

Since breaking his left hand on October 30th against the Suns, reports have been speculating of returning last Sunday then new reports came out sometime in March finally we have a possibility of this Thursday for his return.

Curry has been practicing with the Santa Cruz Warriors and has been doing scrimmages, everyone said he has been doing great and should be expected somewhere around Thursday.

“I heard everything (in Santa Cruz) went well,” Kerr said. “I’m happy that he got a really good scrimmage in. The physicality was the main thing for him — to go up and down and feel the screens, the bumps, the bruises … all that stuff. I haven’t talked with Steph yet, but talking with [Warriors director of sports medicine Dr.] Rick [Celebrini], everything went really well and so it’s all good signs.

“Thursday is definitely a possibility.”

Even though the Warriors are still the worst team in the NBA right now, 13-48, they will still bring back their star player while Klay Thompson will be brought back next year for the team.
