The LakeShow can’t catch a break as Melo gets injured during Battle-For-LA Game!

If the Lakers couldn’t have anymore bad luck and a drama-filled season on their hands… sadly this trend is picking up more steam and is hurting more players. Los Angeles got back Anthony Davis, but no LeBron James. Not ideal, now their primary sixth man is injured.

We do not have a timeline yet for Carmelo Anthony as he suffered a strained hamstring. This happened to his right hamstring as this incident occurred in the second quarter against their game against the Clippers.

The only good news that stems from this is the fact that they will be reevaluating him today, Friday. So, for fans sake (and team’s sake), hopefully it is something minor where he needs to take some days off for rest. Maybe miss a game or two; if it is then that will worsen the morale of fans and teams as that will tank a bit. Not because he is this big-time star, but because of how many players and coaches have been affected from so many incidents this season that sidelined them games.

The latest has been LeBron James hurt, who has missed several games.

Battle-For-LA Game: Mini Recap

The Lakers battled back from being down by 17 points, they put a halt to the wrath of ClipperNation. However, within the final minute closing in on those two teams; six go-ahead baskets were made by both teams. Both sides going all-in, not giving up, but one team came out on top.

Reggie Jackson hit the tough, clutch shot to give them the 111-110 lead as it came down to one final possession by the LakeShow. Anthony Davis, who was driving into the paint for the game-winner, took all the pressure and sadly it went in and then back out.

One of the most devastating heart-breakers this season for the Lakers. Should they have won? Most likely as they put on a great performance, a great rally comeback. However, they came up just a bit short. Tough luck for them, but one heck of a game for fans to see.

Knicks not interested in reunion with Melo

Rumors emerged that a possible reunion of Carmelo Anthony and New York was in the making, however, the Knicks have shut that down with many reasons to back up why it wouldn’t make sense to bring him back to the team.

The 38-year-old wouldn’t fit their defensive style and how they want to push up the ball offensively; head coach Tom Thibodeau just doesn’t see a compatible fit between the two sides, which makes sense as the tone/team has changed drastically since Melo departed the team.

Despite Obi Toppin being injured and Melo being in the right position, the Knicks are believed to be waiting out that injury and just making patching adjustments until the 24-year-old returns to the lineup. Toppin is currently dealing with a fibula issue, which is sidelining him for 2-3 weeks.

New York doesn’t want to give Melo minutes that would take away from Toppin’s development, they want to give them all the minutes that they can realistically give Toppin.

Don’t expect Carmelo Anthony to be a Celtic any time soon

Danilo Gallinari injuries himself, the Celtics need a replacement, and rumors are circulating of him becoming a part of the Boston franchise. Those rumors are being put to rest now as the team will give their other players the opportunity to earn Gallinari’s role while he is out for the foreseeable future.

Currently, as reported by many, the Celtics are not expected to bring in Anthony before training camp kicks off. However, that could change. But I suspect the Celtics will evaluate the replacement players they have, assess if they should make another move or not, and take it from there before the preseason begins.

I do want to say this, no one is ruling out the possibility of him becoming a Celtic. But, for the time being, they are not jumping to give him a try-out and/or sign him.
