Rajon Rondo has been traded to the Cavaliers!

Rajon Rondo has been traded to the Cavaliers! The Lakers kicked off the first trade of the season as they have shipped off Rondo. Rajon Rondo had a good run with the team, winning a championship and all; however, the LakeShow felt like it was time to move on.

The Cavaliers were more than happy to take the call and trade for Rondo. Cleveland needed that desperately, like without Rubio they needed to make that move. Eyeing up Harris and/or Simmons was their goal, but getting Rondo helps too. Rajon Rajon will be able to provide at his increased role with the team.

What was the official trade?

The Cavaliers traded Denzel Valentine to the Lakers for Rajon Rondo. Valentine will be waived immediately by the Lakers as they were going to get. that free open roster spot.

Per ESPN, Rondo is excited for his new role and was happy when presented the option Thursday. Currently, he is in the COVID Protocols and will be with his new team when he is able to leave. Rondo has been in the protocols since Sunday.
